Another Day
So this morning, I wake up late after having gone to bed late and my cousin tells me that my mom was talking!
"She said, 'Get me some water before I die. I haven't had water in 5 days.'" my cousin said.
So yeah, later my mom spoke to me too. After trying to figure out what she wanted--water? teeth brushed?--she said, yes, she wanted water and yes, she wanted me to brush her teeth. Gave her a few drops of water (she's not supposed to have too much or she'll choke) and (I thought) she wanted more. Then she said, "You don't understand" and took the wash cloth that I was rubbing on her teeth and proceeded to clean her teeth by herself.
Later, she ate soup. She surprised everyone by speaking Spanish, which she doesn't really know how to do. In Spanish she said, "It's not time yet." Since then, she's made my aunt and sister put her in her wheel chair (twice), and she also tried to walk.
We've read that before they die, some people get a second wind. This is my mother's third.
